ROSES : THE MEANING OF THEIR COLORS

Roses will always be those flowers we love so much! Just for a little fun (or to help you make your choice!), here is the meanings suggested by regarding the colors of roses! Take it seriously… Or not!!!
- The red rose truly symbolizes passionate love, romance, and the power of emotions. We reserve it for the one we love to express our deepest feelings!
- The white rose conveys, above all, purity and sincerity. It is a symbol of peace and spirituality. It can also express a budding and sincere love, but be careful — its message might also be “I like you, but that is all!” In that case, add a few red roses to the bouquet to make the message clearer!
- The lavender rose, on the other hand, symbolizes enchantment and love at first sight. It evokes an air of majesty and splendor.
- The yellow rose is ideal for expressing friendship or wishing someone a speedy recovery. It is perfect for lifting someone’s spirits or showing your appreciation. However, in the language of love, it symbolizes betrayal. To avoid any ambiguity, it is best to include a little note with your bouquet!
- The orange rose conveys carnal desire, admiration, and enthusiasm. Its message is, to say the least, very explicit : you are attracted to this person!
- Ultimately, the pink rose conveys affection and tenderness and pays tribute to feminine beauty. In a mixed bouquet, it is said that its message reinforces the message of the other flowers. One thing’s for sure: we love its subtle charm!
It is worth noting that meanings can vary depending on religion, country, or even the many publications that already exist on this topic! So don't take this literally!
THE NUMBER
To ensure your bouquet has a balanced shape, we include an odd number of roses if there are fewer than 10. Otherwise, it doesn't matter!
Here's a fun fact: certain numbers of roses convey a specific message:
- 1 rose: to express love at first sight
- 2 roses: to ask for forgiveness
- 12 roses: to thank a loved one, to accompany a marriage proposal
- 24 roses: to be the epitome of chivalry
- 36 roses: to confess your love (red), for an engagement bouquet (white or pink)
- 101 roses: to express mad love

TREATMENTS
Now, here are my little TIPS & TRICKS for when you receive a bouquet of roses, to help them last longer…
- As soon as you receive your roses, remove the water tubes and place your bouquet in a vase filled with lukewarm water.
- Every two days, trim the stems at an angle with pruning shears or a sharp knife and change the water.
- It's best to avoid placing your bouquet in a spot that's too hot.
- If the rosebud falls off before it blooms, it's because water isn't reaching it. So you should trim the stem by at least 2 cm and place it in warm water.
There you go! Now I'm curious to know… What do you think of the symbolism of roses?
