March 8th. Women's Day. I wanted to take advantage of International Women's Rights Day to shine the spotlight on the women who surround me, who inspire me and who have given meaning to my life. They are also the women who have made À la Boîte à Fleurs shine for generations. A daring woman
It was in 1966 that my grandmother Denise Locas founded À la Boîte à Fleurs. At the time, it was quite unusual for a woman to dare head such a project. Gifted with extraordinary talent and unfailing determination, she managed the business for almost 30 years. I have had the privilege of having this inspiring, creative woman in my life, with a passion for making her wildest dreams come true! I can see in her eyes the pride she takes in witnessing the boutique's ever-growing place in the world of flowers and gift baskets!
A woman open to the world
She learned from the best. She received values of love, respect and sharing, values that she was able to pass on to my sister and me. My mother Francine Locas-Joly is my muse. She took the reins of À la Boîte à Fleurs in 1995. She ventured off the beaten track, dared to pass on her knowledge in TV columns on TVA's Les Saisons de Clodine, created the first magazine dedicated to floral art in Quebec, took part in many prestigious competitions, including representing Quebec in Nice, and gave courses and lectures. She has traveled extensively and has always had an open eye for the world and a respect that knows no boundaries. Her undeniable talent and innovative vision make everyone around her shine!
A radiant woman
To me, my sister Marie-Ève is a passionate woman who brilliantly transmits her passion for an entire gourmet universe to those who cross her path. She is a shining light for countless other women entrepreneurs in Quebec. How can I not be grateful to have as both sister and business partner this woman who possesses such expertise, and who is creating the great success that is L'Espace Gourmet? She continually renews herself. With her, I aim higher and always further. Together, we dare. She isan exemplary mother and a brilliant career woman. She has my admiration!
A talented team
On this Women's Day, it is hard not to shine the spotlight on all the women who make up our team? They are inspired, motivated, constantly on the lookout for new ideas and knowledgeable about the latest trends. It is great to be around these passionate, talented women every day, dedicated to offering our customers top-quality products! They are the success of the boutique!
Involved women
None of the boutique's success would have been possible without the wonderful Ruth Vachon, President director of the Réseau des Femmes d'Affaires du Québec (RFAQ), a woman who is committed, available, a good listener and an exceptional guide, as well as all the women who are members of the RFAQ. Being able to benefit from the support of a community committed to dynamic spaces is so helpful! Our exchanges have enabled me to develop my skills and evolve both personally and professionally. Our encounters and the sharing of our realities has been very motivating for me. So it was natural for me to get involved as President of RFAQ-Laval. Thank you, dear women, for taking part in this collective mutual aid!

For Women's Day, I can't help but notice how beautiful it is to be surrounded by women who shine through the generations. Let's be proud, let's be daring, let's be beautiful in what we accomplish, and let's draw inspiration from each other so that we can always evolve and take our rightful place!
